Officials pledge to continue housebuilding work
Housing Secretary Robert Jenrick and regional mayors in England have signed a joint pledge to keep essential building work continuing during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Jenrick has signed a pledge alongside the mayors of London, Sheffield, Liverpool, the West Midlands and Manchester to “continue to do all we can […] to ensure that ensure necessary building safety improvements can continue”.
The document states that building safety work should continue where it is safe to do so, in accordance with public health guidance and procedures put in place by the construction industry.
